I am a political scientist based in Berlin and Istanbul, working at the nexus of academia and political consultancy. My educationresearch, publications and teaching in England, France, Germany, Turkey, Switzerland and Algeria and my policy work in think tanks in Germany and Turkey have so far focused on statebuilding, feminist foreign policy, populism, democratization and hybrid regimes, peacebuilding and reconciliation, political communication and international relations theory in geographic areas ranging from Europe to Eurasia, Sub-Saharan Africa and Turkey.

 

I earned my Bachelors degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University’s St. Hugh’s College and my Masters degree in Contemporary European Studies from the University of Bath, Sciences Po Paris and Humboldt University Berlin. Having completed my doctoral studies at Humboldt University Berlin on African statebuilding and nationbuilding in light of the South Sudanese experience, I am currently working as visiting scholar at Kadir Has University Istanbul and as lecturer at the University St Gallen and Leuphana University Lüneburg.
